A large terrain in the south of Chile with an existing house was bought by an university to create an information center with exposition rooms, offices, a laboratory and a storage space. The existing house is transformed, removing almost all the interior walls, to create two exposition rooms, a reception and cafeteria on the first floor and offices on the second floor. In a new volume there is space for a laboratory and storage space.
PATIO, EXPOSITION ROOM AND LAB
Between the two volumes there is an open patio which can be used as an extension of an exposition or a terrace for the cafeteria. In one of the exposition spaces there we be a permanent exposition about an area called Monte Verde, an area where the first habitants of South-Chile lived.
